Back in September of 2018, I heard the news that Virgin Australia was removing plastic straws and stirrers from their flights and lounges. That's over 7.5 million stirrers and 260,000 straws per year that will no longer end up in landfill/oceans/up a turtle's nose.
I wonder if it stuck? And if any other airlines have made the same move? If you're equally fed up with single-use plastic, remembering to mention that you don't want a straw when you order a drink is one of the simplest ways you can cut back. Head to The Final Straw challenge if you'd like to read more about this two easy moves you can make.
