Kristine Tompkins is the former CEO of Patagonia, which is already a pretty hefty achievement in and of itself, especially when you consider the company's green credentials.
However, upon retiring from Patagonia in the early 1990s, Tompkins devoted herself entirely to conservation. She and her now deceased husband, Doug Tompkins, have protected more land than any other individuals - over 2 million acres.
Today, Tompkins continues to make huge strides for conservation through her foundation Conservación Patagónica (CP), an NGO focused on creating new national parks in Patagonia in order to protect and restore wildlands, biodiversity, and communities.
