STOP TIME - DAY NINE

I think it's probably illegal to attempt a challenge that is all about mindfulness without mentioning meditation.

 

Who out there meditates regularly?

 

I'm a massive fan of the app Headspace - I find Andy Puddicombe's voice reassuring and calming.

 

I've racked up 1,338 minutes on the app's guided meditations... but I've probably been the character in the cartoon here for at least half of those minutes.

 

 

I may suck at meditation but I can't say enough about how much I appreciate the benefits of even my lousy practice. I think my favourite perk of meditation is having far more patience when it comes to parenting.

 

Today's Stop Time practice is to set aside at least ten minutes to meditate.

 

If you're a beginner, go with a guided meditation rather than just trying to do it on your own.

 

If Headspace is not for you, there are plenty of other apps out there (I think Calm, Buddhify and Aura are popular) as well as free guided meditations on YouTube.
